Let the sunshine in! – Solar project 2020

A light is rising in Namatingwi!
And one more, and one more, and one more …

In the evenings still doing things, reading and doing homework … for the rural population of Malawi anything but normal! After sunset from about 18 o’clock it is dark here. There is no nationwide power supply.

In cooperation with the association Abiola im Allgäu, we were able to supply 30 families in the village Namatingwi in the Mulanje region with small solar power systems!

During our trip to Malawi last year, we met Wilson Kachikuwa and James Philippo, who supported us on site with the import and installation of the solar kits and showed great patience and sensitivity, especially at the Malawian customs.

For six months Wilson and James will now visit the families regularly and report on how the people are coping with the solar systems.

And then? Of course we hope for many more rays of hope for Malawi!
